Limang pelikulang Pilipino ang napili ng The Japan Foundation Asia Center para ipalabas sa Focus on Asia International Film Festival Fukuoka 2018 na ginanap mula Setyembre 14 hanggang 23 sa Fukuoka City.

Itinampok bilang main feature na pinamagatang “Philippine Films: Drawn to and Fascinated by a Sacred Chaos” ang mga pelikulang “Nervous Translation” na idinirehe ni Shireen Seno, “The Baggage” ni Zig Dulay, “Smaller and Smaller Circles” ni Raya Martin, “Women of the Weeping River” ni Sheron Dayoc at ang digitally restored version ng acclaimed Filipino film masterpiece ng 1970s na “Nunal Sa Tubig (Speck in the Water)” ni Ishmael Bernal.

“Our special feature on films from the Philippines commemorating a century of their films, is entitled ‘Drawn and Attracted to the Sacred Chaos.’ It introduces film masterpieces directed by young filmmakers who will shoulder the future of motion pictures from the Philippines,” saad ng festival.
