Nanjo City modelo ng ecotourism ng Victorias City sa Negros

Modelo ng Victorias City sa Negros Occidental ang Nanjo City sa Okinawa pagdating sa ecotourism para tulungang mapalakas ang turismo sa lugar.

Pinapalakas ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Victorias ang agri-ecotourism dito sa pamamagitan ng bird watching tours sa mga turistang Hapon, farm tours sa mga lokal na turista, at pagpapakilala ng eco-bento meals sa mga local cafes.

Isinasagawa ito sa tulong ng Japanese volunteer na ipinadala sa ilalim ng Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Volunteer Program at Nanjo City.

“The goal is to help Victorias City increase its tourist arrivals by 30% from the 2015 baseline of 80,924 tourists. Victorias, with its natural parks, bears semblance to Japan’s Nanjo City as ecotourism destination. We can certainly explore new tourism opportunities through Victorias’ eco parks and agriculture products,” pahayag ni Japanese volunteer Mikaru Nakazato na ipinadala sa lugar sa ilalim ng Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) Program ng JICA noong 2016.

Nagtrabaho si Nakazato sa tourism department ng Nanjo City Hall.

Ang Nanjo City at Victorias City ay sister cities at nagtutulungan para sa revitalization ng bawat isa sa pamamagitan ng sustainable development at partnerships sa ilalim ng technical cooperation project kasama ang JICA.

Ibinahagi ni Nakazato na magsasagawa ng seminar ang Victorias tungkol sa eco bento-making na papangunahan ng instructor mula sa Nanjo City. Tampok sa mga meal boxes ang lokal na pagkain at ani ng mga magsasaka na nakabalot sa dahon ng saging.

“The eco-bento meals can offer opportunities for restaurants and cafes in Victorias especially to cater to tourists in bird watching activities,” dagdag ni Nakazato.

Ang Victorias ay migratory path ng aabot sa 166 species ng ibon na lumilipad sa kagubatan ng Gawahon Eco Park.

“Victorias could learn from Nanjo City new areas to enhance tourism to create more jobs and economic opportunities at the local level,” ani Nakazato.
