Japan nag-donate ng protective equipment sa PNP

seremonya sa PNP headquarters sa Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Pormal nang ibinigay ni Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda ang mga bagong protective equipment na donasyon ng gobyerno ng Japan sa Philippine National Police (PNP).

Tinanggap ni PNP Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde ang mga kagamitan sa isang seremonya na ginanap sa PNP headquarters sa Camp Crame, Quezon City kamakailan.

Kabilang sa donasyon ang anim na bagong units ng bomb suit, anim na units ng ballistic shield at 440 units ng ballistics helmet na nagmula sa Grant Aid for Economic and Social Development Program ng Japan na nagkakahalaga ng ¥500 milyon. Sinusuportahan nito ang counter-terrorism campaign at public safety service ng PNP.

“I hope that the bomb suits, ballistic shields and helmets we will turn over today will further build up the defenses of PNP personnel nationwide in their relentless bid to curb terrorist acts and illegal drug abuse. I salute the PNP’s valiant men and women in uniform who risk their lives to the call of duty,” ani Haneda.

Ayon pa sa Japanese envoy, dapat ipagmalaki ng PNP ang tagumpay nito sa kanilang counter-terrorism at drug enforcement operations at sinabing patuloy na magpapaabot ng tulong ang Japan sa kampanyang ito.

Sinabi naman ni Albayalde na ipapagamit sa Explosive Ordinance Detection Units ang mga bomb suits at ballistic shields para maprotektahan nila ang kanilang mga sarili tuwing may bomb threat response operations at iba pang kaugnay na insidente.

Dagdag pa niya na ang mga ballistics helmets ay ibibigay sa police units na naghahawak sa internal security at anti-terrorism operations upang matiyak ang kanilang personal na kaligtasan.

“All this donated equipment will certainly go a long way in enhancing police capability in addressing security issues and threats to public safety,” saad ni Albayalde.
